Hey, I’m Justin.

I’m the guy behind ShearIQ.

I didn’t grow up planning on sharpening shears. Honestly, I probably never would have guessed I’d be doing it.

But I’ve always been someone who likes figuring out how things work, learning how to do them right, and then getting better at them.

That’s what pulled me into sharpening.

Once I started learning about professional shears, I got hooked. There’s a lot more to it than simply making an edge sharp. Different shears, different edge geometries, different designs — they all require you to understand what you’re working with and why you’re doing what you’re doing.

And I like that.

I never stop sharpening my skills. I keep refining my process, because I don’t think you ever really reach the end of that road.

WHY SHEARIQ?

I started ShearIQ because I wanted to build something I could put my name behind.

If you’re a barber or stylist, your shears aren’t just another tool.

They’re something you rely on every day to do your work and make your living.

So when you send them to me, I know you’re trusting me with something that matters.

I take that seriously.

I don’t believe every pair of shears should simply be run through the same process and sent back.

I want to understand what I’m working on, respect the design and edge, and do the job correctly.

I’M BUILDING THIS THE SAME WAY I’D WANT IT DONE FOR ME.

ShearIQ is growing, and I’m investing in better equipment, more training, and more experience because I want the quality of the work to keep getting better as the business grows.

My goal is simple:

Build a sharpening company that professionals can trust.

Not because I tell you we’re the best.

Because you send me your shears, get them back, use them, and know the difference.

Eventually, I want ShearIQ to be a name that barbers and stylists know they can trust.

But that starts with one pair of shears at a time.

And that’s one of the things I like most about this business.

When you send your shears to ShearIQ, you’re not sending them into some faceless processing center.

You’re sending them to me.

And I’m going to take care of them.
